January Haul!

Hey guys!

So at the end of December and the beginning of January I purchased some new items! Not that i need any more!

First if all i went to MAC and i have a huge list of things i want... it just seems to get bigger! I have always wanted to try fix+ so i purchased that. So far I'm loving it for refreshing my face during the day, you can set your makeup with it and make your eye shadow pigments stand out more and stick so there's less fallout when applying which is great for me as I'm a messy worker! You get quite a lot in a bottle and you really don't use that much so in my opinion its worth the money.

Then i heard a few good things about the MAC mineralised skinfinish natural, so i decided to give that a go as i get a very oily t-zone during the day. I don't really know how i feel about it yet as i don't tend to use powder on my dry patches and i just focus it on the oily areas. So i haven't used it much. One thing i would say is that it's a tad dark so I'll have to test it when i have a tan.

I've been wanting to try Maybelline's browdrama for a while now as i have quite bushy, thick dark brows so i wanted a nice tinted gel that would keep them in shape. Honestly, so far i can't really tell if i see much of a difference in them but that could just be because I'm so dark. So i would try it if you're fair.

Then i picked up the MUA luxe velvet lip lacquer in reckless, I don't really wear red's much but i wanted to try something that i wouldn't have to constantly re apply. The pigmentation is incredible on these bad boys! the finish is matte but a velvet like feeling. It does feel quite drying after a while and it does crack a bit but its only £3 so it was worth a go!

Now every time i go into Superdrug i always love the look of the Accessorize makeup, so i swatched a few blushes and i picked up this one and its just a light pinky gold baked blush, the one i wanted was out of stock so i thought I'd try it and I've used this twice, i dropped it so it smashed!! :(
However, it was only £3.95 so i don't mind so much as i can just pick another one up!

I was also intrigued by this dark purpley lip stick by Accsesorize as i love the whole dark berry lips for winter so i wanted to try that out. To be honest, i can't really say how i feel about it yet as I'm trying to wear it but it's just a really hard colour to work with. I'll keep trying though because i love the shade!

Also from MUA I kept looking at the Undress your skin highlighter which looks like a dupe for the MAC  Extra dimension highlighter as the pattern is so similar. The colour of this in the pan looks quite pink but when you swatch it, it's actually quite white. Which is what attracted me to it. On the skin it looks really natural and it was on offer so i think it was £2.50 which is a bargain!

So that is all i've bought so far this month. I've already broken my new years resolution of trying to do a post 3 times a week but hey... im only human!

What's In My Makeup Bag?

Hey Guys!

So I wonder what's in my makeup bag?

I bought my makeup bag from Primark a few months back. I was looking for a makeup bag that resembled the Ted Baker makeup bags as i am in love with that bag but until i get it i thought find something cheaper! This bag, like most of Primark's makeup bags are around £3 which is a bargain to get the job done!
I really like this bag... It's just a bit too small for me!

It has two small compartments to store everything in.. which can get quite annoying as i find it hard to squish it all in. But i think the bow and the quilted detail is really cute. Its perfect for me at the moment as i spend a lot of my time out of the house.

Now down to the good bit! So i only have 9 makeup products in here as the palettes and the powder take up a lot of room but I basically have the essentials for a full face.
I have my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette -£20 Buy here
Sleek contouring and blush palette in Light 373 -£9.99 Buy here
Mac Studio Sculpt foundation in NW20 - £25.00 Buy here
Mac pro longwear concealer in NW20 -£15.50 Buy here
Virgin Vie eye boost - discontinued
Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer in fair 1- £3.99 Buy here
Rimmel stay matte powder in 003 peach glow- £3.99 Buy here
Maybelline eye studio lasting drama gel eyeliner 24hr in 01 black - £7.99 Buy here
Rimmel lash accelerator endless in 001 black - £7.99 Buy here

I then have all the essential makeup brushes to complete my everyday makeup.
I have the Real techniques expert face brush which i use to blend and apply my foundation. £8.99 Buy here ( I actually find superdrug to be cheaper than boots for these brushes!)
The real techniques stippling brush which i use to blend in my concealer. £10.99 Buy here
The real techniques kabuki brush i use to contour my cheeks and apply powder to my face. I love these brushes as they are great quality and really soft. £7.84 Buy here
The Body Shop blusher brush which i actually use to contour my nose and highlight my cheek bones and nose as it's thin. Its also really soft and really well made. £12 Buy here
Then finally i have the models own makeup set which contains a powder brush which i use for blush, an angled brush which i use for my eyebrows and eyeliner, a shading brush and a blending brush. These brushes are amazing for only £10. I have definitely got my moneys worth out of them, they are soft and they blend nicely. Buy here

I absolutely adore my virgin vie eye boost. It is the perfect base shadow and it really brings out the green in my hazel eyes. The great thing about this product is that I've had this since i was 15 and I'm 22 now...you only need a tiny amount for both lids as it blends so nicely and smoothly. I really want to try and get a new one as this can't be hygienic to use but I'm pretty sure its discontinued! :(

My Urban Decay naked basics palette is the best £20 I've ever spent. I use this almost every day and i haven't hit pan yet! (touch wood!)
The colours are so pigmented and smooth and they all blend so nicely and create the nicest looks.
There are 6 shadows in this palette and Venus is the only shimmer. It is a gorgeous bright white shadow with silver shimmer. I use either Foxy or W.O.S (walk of shame) on my lid and Naked 2 in my crease. I then use the two darkest shades for depth in my outer V, which are Faint and Crave.

I really have got my moneys worth out of this palette! I thought that £9.99 was quite pricey at first but now that I've tried this and i use it every day i can see it is really worth the money!

The bronzer is perfect to contour! It is really dark and pigmented so you don't need much. The highlight is a lovely gold toned shimmer and it looks really natural on your face... It doesn't look like glitter stuck to you!
The blusher is gorgeous too! It's like a rose gold colour and i love it!

Now to concealer! I think that these concealers are both amazing! The collection 2000 is the best high street concealer and it is a perfect dupe for the MAC Pro Longwear concealer. They are both thick, they don't crease, they last all day and they are both water resistant.
Although the MAC one is better, the collection 2000 one is pretty close and for a fraction of the price! One is £15.50 and the other is £4.19 and usually on offer!

I use the collection 2000 as a highlight for under my eyes or to cover blemishes as it is the closest to my natural skin tone and the MAC one for under my eyes on days where I'm not contouring and highlighting. Sometimes i use these for a light coverage as they blend so well and so evenly across the face. The Mac Pro Longwear swatch is on the right.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Make sure to comment and like if you did!

September Favourites

Hi guys!

So today's post is going to be my September favourites. I tried my best to use different products up that I haven't been a fan of just to use them up or to see if I changed my mind and I have on a few!

The foundation that I've been using for the majority of this month is the Rimmel wake me up foundation in 103 true ivory.
At first I really didn't get on well with this product, as after two attempts of trying to see what all the fuss was about I noticed that it was a very light coverage and it started to separate during the day which I was not thrilled about.
So I decided to give it a fair chance as most bloggers and Youtubers love this foundation.
I discovered that i really liked it. It is a light weight foundation, with a medium coverage but it is buildable if you wanted more full coverage. It has tiny flecks of glitter in the foundation which gives a lovely natural glow. However I am quite oily so I have to use powder throughout the day. To stay matte around my nose and chin. It doesn't break me out and it feels really fresh and awakening which is good as it says anti fatigue effect on the bottle. It still seperates around my hair line so i do have to touch up places but for a highsteet foundation its not bad at all.

Maybelline concealer £7.99| Buy here

My next favourite of the month is the Maybelline eraser eye concealer. After being so hooked on my MAC concealer I decided to give my skin a rest as it is very thick and long lasting. This concealer is one if my favourite high street concealers as it is really light and creamy, it blends nicely, it has great coverage and it makes my under eyes feel really awake and fresh.
It is a sponge applicator which isn't great for hygiene reasons but I love the way it feels under my eyes when I apply it and you have to turn the top so it clicks to get the product out. I love this a lot and I recommend it highly even though I'm only 22 and have no need for anti ageing products yet.

Sleek contour and blush kit £9.99| Buy here
I love my sleek contour, blush and highlight kit. The bronzer is very pigmented and quite dark so it's perfect to create a strong contour. The highlighter is a gorgeous cool, gold shimmer tone and it looks like a natural highlight instead of glitter stuck to your face. I do love the blusher a lot, however, my only problem with the blusher is that it's very shimmery and I prefer more matte blushers as I feel that with the highlight it is too much and the shimmer attracts light to blemishes. It's an excellent bargain for £9.99 and you can get it from superdrug or the online sleek store.

Benefit they're real £19.50| Buy here
I purchased Benefit's they're real! Mascara in June this year for my birthday and I have only used it on special occasions as it's so expensive to use as an everyday mascara. However, I got to the point when I was just not using it at all and i asked myself "why would I pay all that money to just let it sit there and look pretty?" So I made an effort to use it this month.
I have loved this since I bought it as with only one coat it separates lashes and makes them look so long. It is an amazing mascara and I love it. The only bad thing is that it takes a while to remove but it's also a good thing as it means it will last all day. This mascara is £19.50 and you can buy it from any Benefit counter Benefit online.

My most loved and used high street eye shadow palette is the MUA undress me too palette.
It is a brilliant dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and it is an absolute bargain at £4!

I wish that there were more matte shades in the palette but I love it none the less.
The shades from left to right are:
Top row: Naked, Devotion, Shy, Fiery, Lavish and Dreamy.
Bottom row: Tranquil, Exposed, Reveal, Wink, Obsessed and Corrupt.
They are very pigmented eyeshadow and they blend well.
However, they can be quite chalky and leave a bit of fall out but I really don't mind for the price.
Bourjois Paris Color Boost £7.99 Buy here
My favourite lip product of the month is the Bourjois Paris Color Boost lip crayon in the shade 04 peach on the beach.
It is a glossy finish lip stick, and it is extremely moisturising. I love the colour, I love the smell, I love the formula. I just love this a lot. I'm not a massive fan of lip sticks as I hate the smell and the finish but i will definitley be investing into some new lip crayons. It was quite expensive I think at £7.99 but as I love it I think it was worth it.

Finally my last favourite is the MUA pro brow kit. My last blog post was a review on this, so I won't say too much about it and I will leave a link below.

MUA Pro brow kit £3.50| Buy here Review
It is a very handy and cute eyebrow kit, the shadows are very pigmented, the tweezers are good for stray hairs, the brush was awful and I threw that away. The mirror is brilliant as it's a compact and brow kit in one so no need for an extra mirror and the price is amazing at £3.50!

I hope you enjoyed my September favourites!
