February Favourites

Today's post is going to be my February favourites as im sure you can guess from the title!

So as i said in last months favourites i'd been loving the Nars sheer glow foundation but i'd been using it too much and i didn't want to waste it on everyday use. I was reccomended to try out the Revlon Colour stay foundation. So i did.

This foundation is very comparable to the Nars sheer glow foundation as it gives the same finish, it lasts all day and it's full coverage. Now this one is thicker than Nars but when i use a beauty blender with it, it goes on like a dream! It covers up all my redness and blemishes and it has great lasting power. I'm in the shade Buff and it's a great match, however it does have a slight yellow undertone to it and my skin has pink undertones. It's quite pricey at £12.99 but I am happy to repurchase it as it works so well on my skin!
I did buy the one for oily skin by accident and i noticed a lot of the foundation started to cling on my dry areas so i make sure i cleanse, tone, moisturise and prime well before using it and then it's great. But next time i will be picking up the right one! Really like this product!

For Valentines day i got the Naked 3 pallette and i have used it everyday since! I in LOVE  with this pallette and it works so well on my skin tone and eye colour. I was woried about it being pink but it's amazing and each colour seems to adapt to your tones. I've already done a post on my thoughts about the Naked 3 so i wont ramble on! But it's the perfect palette for spring in my opinion!

Now that spring is coming i'm no longer feeling the heavy black thick winged liner and im going for a more subtle smokey look. So for this effect i've just been lining my lash line with the Maybelline Eye Studio Master Smokey pencil in either black or brown depending on the eyeshadow used and then smudging it out to make the lashes appear thicker and to make the eyes look softer. 

I've found myself reaching for my Benefit Rockateur blush recently as it gives a healthy glowing look and it's a gorgeous rose gold blush that compliments the Naked 3 palette well. I love the smell of it too!

I've also started loving glossy lips and put away the lipsticks and just stuck to the gloss as i feel like it makes any look more fresh and not so heavy.
I want to start toning down my makeup looks so i've been trying different techniques.

There is one brush i've been adoring this month and that's the real techniques blush brush. I really like this brush for bronzer to warm up the face and for blush as i feel like they go on so much smoother without scratching my foundation off.

I've obviously still been loving previous favourites like my Sleek contour kit and Maybelline age rewind concealer but I'm trying to use different things each month so it's not monotonous!

January Favourites!

Hello my lovelys!

I can not believe it is February already! Time goes way to fast....
So today's post is going to be my January favourites.

For Christmas i got the NARS Sheer glow foundation and i have been using this everyday since! I love this foundation so much and i think i really need to calm down on the usage as it costs £31 a bottle!
The lightest application makes my skin look healthy and the redness disappears. It is has buildable coverage to medium but it's not great at concealing blemishes and dark circles so I'll always use a concealer on top for a flawless coverage. I would say the lasting time is about 6-8 hours depending on the thickness. I'm not really sure it 'glows' but it has a bit of dewiness throughout the day .I'm matched in the shade Mont Blanc and i feel like it's a tad dark as I'm so pale right now. I've also been breaking out a lot lately around my chin so I'm planning on using something else for a while to see if it's the foundation.. I really hope its not because it's my favourite foundation ever!

I picked up these two mascara's before Christmas at TK Maxx and i absolutely adore them! I use the L'oreal telescopic explosion first to add volume to my lashes and i then go over it with the L'oreal telescopic clear and this gets clumps out, lengthens and separates. Together these are the BOMB! my lashes look full and long and they were £3.99 each instead of  £10.99 each! i'm pretty sure you can find them on Amazon or ebay for around the price i got them.

As i recently did a post on the Collection 2000 extreme 24hr felt liner you'll already know that i adore this! So easy to apply, so quick, so black and lasts really long! Can't go wrong for £2.99.

I got this paint pot by MAC in Utterly Becoming for Christmas in the limited edition gift set and i love this a lot. It's a great base for eye shadows as it blurs out veins and imperfections making sure that your eyeshadow is true to colour and lasts all day long. I'll even wear this on days when i don't want to wear eyeshadow because when i apply my eyeliner it doesn't transfer anywhere on my lid. Which is my pet peeve! It's a shame it's no longer available as I'll really have to make this one last but I've used it non stop so far and I've barley made a dent so i think it will last me a while anyway. 

Again as i recently did a post on how much i love Snob by MAC, it probably comes as no surprise to you! I just love the colour on me. It's a great shade of pink that is light enough for everyday to make you look put together and it's simple enough to finish off a night time smokey look without having too much going on!

And finally I've been loving this Wet N Wild eyeshadow trio in walking on egg shells. This look I've been wearing everyday almost. The lid colour is a gorgeous shimmery pink which just brightens up your eyes, the crease colour is a shimmery brown but when you blend it, it looks matte. It's the perfect crease colour as it pulls the eye look together and creates a lot of dimension and the highlight is a beautiful white/ silver shimmer and really compliments my skin tone. My friend got me this from Florida but 'm sure you can find it online.

I really made an effort to try new things this month as last year everything was very samey! 

So i will make a conscious effort to do the same in February!

MAC Snob Review.

Hey guys!

So for Christmas i was given some money to buy what i wanted at MAC. So i went on the 27th December and I bought the best lipstick I've ever owned! Snob by MAC.

I have worn this lip stick non stop since i bought it and i love it so much! It's the perfect pinkie nude colour and it's really wearable. You can wear it with a smokey dark eye or a soft look and still look really put together. 

It is a Satin finish lipstick and  i would say that it is semi matte and its very soft and really pigmented.

The colour its self is a cool toned pink so it's got some lilac and blue tones in it which make my teeth appear whiter. It lasts around 2 maybe 3 hours if you're not drinking or eating.

I absolutely love it! Best MAC purchase, Best lipstick, Best product i own!

FOTD

Hey guys!

So today's post is going to be a FOTD (face of the day)... I'm always intrigued to see what other people are wearing, this has been my go to look since Christmas. I hope you enjoy!

The first thing I do is use my Nivea hydrating primer, I just dot a pea sized amount on the four parts of my face. I've got dry skin normally but this week it's been especially dry so this is perfect as it lets my foundation glide on flawlessly without it clinging to dry patches.

Then I take some of my Nars sheer glow foundation in Mont Blanc onto a real techniques expert face brush and dot my foundation around my face. I then blend all the foundation on my face in circular motions and stippling movements to make sure that there are no brush marks on my face. This foundation is so lovely! It's very light coverage but buildable. With one layer it looks like what my skin would look like without the redness. I then add a tiny bit more to the areas that need more coverage.

Next I get my Maybelline Age Rewind concealer and I just place this under my eyes, bridge of my nose, chin and cupids bow so that when it's blended I get a nice natural highlight. Then I contour using my Sleek contour and blush kit... Dusting the rose gold blush on the apples of my cheeks and the gorgeous shimmer to my cheekbones. Then blend everything out with a clean brush so there are no harsh lines. I then dab my MAC Mineralised Skin Finish Natural in medium around my tzone. i never sweep my powder as it moves all the product around and i only need it on my tzone so i don't use much anyway.

Now onto the eyes... I prime my eyelids using my MAC Pro longwear Paint Pot in Utterly Becoming and take my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette and sweep Foxy across my eyelid, I then take the shade Naked 2 into my crease to just warm the look up and create some dimension. I blend this out until I get the desired effect and add Venus to my brow bone and tear duct as a highlight. I go over my eyebrows with Faint from the palette and use my Maybelline BrowDrama in dark brown to set my brows. 

Next I take my Collection 2000 24 hour extreme felt tip liner in black and draw my winged liner and apply my Rimmel pencil liner on my water line. For my mascara I have been using the L'oreal Telescopic Explosion mascara in black first as it covers all my lashes in product and gives me volume and to brush it all out so it's not clumpy I take L'oreal Telescopic Clean Definition mascara and add this to my top and lower lashes. The combination of the two together and in that order is incredible. My lashes look fake! I got both of these from TJ MAXX if you're looking for them, otherwise Amazon or Ebay sell them.

Once all my makeup is applied I then set my face with MAC fix+ and add my lip colour which is Snob by Mac and I absolutely love this lipstick. It's a very cool toned pinky lilac coloured lipstick.

Review: L'oreal New Nude Magique Eau De Teint Foundation.

So today is going to be a small post as I'm planning to write more this week.

I am going to be reviewing for you the new L'oreal 'nude magique eau de teint' foundation.

I had been looking forward to trying this for months after seeing so many of my favourite American you tubers raving about it. 

So when I popped into superdrug and saw it there for only £6.99 I thought I may as well give it a go. Buy here

Let's start of firstly with appearance. I actually quite like the bottle as it's not the same as every other foundation bottle. It's a screw cap bottle top and there isn't a pump to apply the product. You have to shake the bottle and then use your finger to apply it to the skin... I tried it this way and it was just so time consuming so my method of applying it is first shaking the product (lid on of course) then pouring my desired amount on to a damp beauty blender / make up sponge and dabbing it on all sections of the face before blending which i found more effective.

As soon as you blend the foundation it turns into a lightweight powdery feel and it gives a light coverage. I have really red skin and I get quite spotty so I prefer a more buildable and fuller coverage foundation but for days where I'm not doing anything or just fancy a light weight feel I now use this.

I know it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea as it's light and a pain to apply but it is exactly what it says on the bottle. It does feel lighter than water! 

The wear time in my opinion was to be expected. It doesn't last much longer than 5 hours without needing to re apply. I find that I don't need to powder my oily areas for quite a while when wearing this so that's a plus. 

I also found that when not shaken well, it tends to oxidise a lot which confused me as I had the lightest colour and ended up looking a bit tangoed! 

Overall I'm not exactly calling this my new favourite or holy grail foundation, but it is good for days when I just don't care about a full coverage look.

I would probably give this foundation a 5/10 as I do like it but it has more cons than pros. If I didn't like it then It would of been a 4/10. I don't think it's worth the full retail value of £9.99  especially as it's only 20ml and most foundations are 30ml. I'm glad I got it for £6.99! I think the only way I would re purchase this is if it was on offer.

September Favourites

So today's post is going to be my September favourites. I tried my best to use different products up that I haven't been a fan of just to use them up or to see if I changed my mind and I have on a few!

The foundation that I've been using for the majority of this month is the Rimmel wake me up foundation in 103 true ivory. 
At first I really didn't get on well with this product, as after two attempts of trying to see what all the fuss was about I noticed that it was a very light coverage and it started to separate during the day which I was not thrilled about. 

So I decided to give it a fair chance as most bloggers and Youtubers love this foundation.
I discovered that i really liked it. It is a light weight foundation, with a medium coverage but it is buildable if you wanted more full coverage. It has tiny flecks of glitter in the foundation which gives a lovely natural glow. However I am quite oily so I have to use powder throughout the day. To stay matte around my nose and chin. It doesn't break me out and it feels really fresh and awakening which is good as it says anti fatigue effect on the bottle. It still seperates around my hair line so i do have to touch up places but for a highsteet foundation its not bad at all.

My next favourite of the month is the Maybelline eraser eye concealer. After being so hooked on my MAC concealer I decided to give my skin a rest as it is very thick and long lasting. This concealer is one if my favourite high street concealers as it is really light and creamy, it blends nicely, it has great coverage and it makes my under eyes feel really awake and fresh.

It is a sponge applicator which isn't great for hygiene reasons but I love the way it feels under my eyes when I apply it and you have to turn the top so it clicks to get the product out. I love this a lot and I recommend it highly even though I'm only 22 and have no need for anti ageing products yet.

I love my sleek contour, blush and highlight kit. The bronzer is very pigmented and quite dark so it's perfect to create a strong contour. The highlighter is a gorgeous cool, gold shimmer tone and it looks like a natural highlight instead of glitter stuck to your face. I do love the blusher a lot, however, my only problem with the blusher is that it's very shimmery and I prefer more matte blushers as I feel that with the highlight it is too much and the shimmer attracts light to blemishes. It's an excellent bargain for £9.99 and you can get it from superdrug or the online sleek store.

I purchased Benefit's they're real! Mascara in June this year for my birthday and I have only used it on special occasions as it's so expensive to use as an everyday mascara. However, I got to the point when I was just not using it at all and i asked myself "why would I pay all that money to just let it sit there and look pretty?" So I made an effort to use it this month. 

I have loved this since I bought it as with only one coat it separates lashes and makes them look so long. It is an amazing mascara and I love it. The only bad thing is that it takes a while to remove but it's also a good thing as it means it will last all day. This mascara is £19.50 and you can buy it from any Benefit counter Benefit online.

My most loved and used high street eye shadow palette is the MUA undress me too palette.

It is a brilliant dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and it is an absolute bargain at £4!

I wish that there were more matte shades in the palette but I love it none the less. 

The shades from left to right are: 

Top row: Naked, Devotion, Shy, Fiery, Lavish and Dreamy.

Bottom row: Tranquil, Exposed, Reveal, Wink, Obsessed and Corrupt.

They are very pigmented eyeshadow and they blend well. 

However, they can be quite chalky and leave a bit of fall out but I really don't mind for the price.

My favourite lip product of the month is the Bourjois Paris Color Boost lip crayon in the shade 04 peach on the beach.

It is a glossy finish lip stick, and it is extremely moisturising. I love the colour, I love the smell, I love the formula. I just love this a lot. I'm not a massive fan of lip sticks as I hate the smell and the finish but i will definitley be investing into some new lip crayons. It was quite expensive I think at £7.99 but as I love it I think it was worth it.

Finally my last favourite is the MUA pro brow kit. My last blog post was a review on this, so I won't say too much about it and I will leave a link below.

It is a very handy and cute eyebrow kit, the shadows are very pigmented, the tweezers are good for stray hairs, the brush was awful and I threw that away. The mirror is brilliant as it's a compact and brow kit in one so no need for an extra mirror and the price is amazing at £3.50!

Small Collective July haul

So I know it's been a while since my last bog post but after my favourites I didn't really know what to write about and i hadn't really been shopping or anything... and I didn't see the point in faking it and just blabbing for the sake of it! 

Over this month I have bought a few products in drips and drabs so this post will be a collective haul.

I'm not going to do a July favourites because the products I'm loving haven't really changed this month. I have a few new things that i love but they will be mentioned below.

So as you all know the weather here in Britain has been extremely hot for once! I'm absolutely loving it but wearing makeup in the heat is horrible! It just slides off my face and I sweat too much and it's just gross! 
So I wanted a nice BB cream for light natural coverage on days when its just too hot and i can't really be bothered to apply a full face of makeup. I purchased the Maybelline dream pure BB 8 in 1 BB cream. Now anything that says they do 8 things in 1 usually means they do 8 things half hearted. That's my opinion anyway! 
This BB cream gives a nice light coverage and its extremely creamy and soft. It's quite thick when you put it on but you can blend it out. Over summer I've noticed my skin getting oilier so this one really doesn't last long on my face so i want to try the one for oily skin. I have also got a lot of redness on my skin and i feel that it does the job if i wanted a 'no makeup, makeup look' but i would add powder on top to set it because of my problem areas and maybe a bit of concealer for blemishes and dark circles. But over all it seems to be just okay for me. I got this in the shade light and it was £4.99. Superdrug had a 2 for £10 deal on Maybelline so i picked up the New York super stay 14 hour lipstick. I'm unsure on the shade but i think it was eternal rose. I really like this lipstick. Its a long lasting colour so it's like a lip stain and i know this is weird but i like the way it feels dry on my lips.. not like a lipstick that's going to bleed or get on your teeth so I'd recommend wearing a gloss with this if you hate dry lipsticks. I don't think it lasts 14 hours tho because i do have to reapply it. Not that i would wear lipstick for 14 hours anyway and this was £6.99.

On my Birthday I went to the benefit counter to spend some birthday money! As I've never owned anything from benefit i thought I'd try something. The woman at the counter recommended the new stay flawless 15 hour primer for me as i have dry skin but because of the current climate every time i use this primer my makeup becomes cakey and separates and i am actually beginning to hate the product. So i decided to try it again when the weather is cooler and give it a second chance. I will do an updated review when i have done so. But it was £24.50 so it's a lot to spend if you think you'll have the same problem as me. I want to try the porefessional primer because i feel like that would be better for me but i just can't afford to right now. While i was there i also purchased the benefits they're real mascara. I have used this mascara maybe 3/4 times because I find it really hard to take off and i don't want to ruin my lashes so i only use this when I'm going somewhere special but it is amazing and you only need a tiny amount and your lashes look so long! But i always build up my mascara so i use about 3/4 coats plus other mascara's if I'm going for a fake lash look. This was on offer in John Lewis at the time and it was £16. I think normally its £19.

Rimmel was 2 for £10 on selected items in boots this weekend so i thought I'd use my points as i needed a new lighter foundation for when i don't fake tan and I've used the lasting finish 25 hour foundation before and i love it. I don't know if it lasts 25 hours but it lasts me all day with only a few touch ups around the mouth and nose areas. It's a thick foundation and it's quite drying on the skin but I'm oily currently so it balances it out a bit. Although it says it's hydrating and a light weight feel.. I'm unsure if it feels that way. I definitely feel like I'm wearing makeup. It was £6.99 but i got it free and it was in the shade 200- light beige.
Then as it was 2 for £10 i bought the Rimmel lash accelerator endless in black. I needed a new every day mascara as i used to use the Rimmel glam eyes flirt and i loved that but my last tube went a bit funky so i decided to try this one as i had heard so many good things about it. I have to say i love this mascara It has a thin wand like the glam eyes and i feel like the brush is better because the brush ends are longer so the comb your lashes better. I only need one coat of this and my lashes look amazing and long. I love most Rimmel mascara's but this one so far is my favourite and It was £7.99.

Every time i go shopping i always look at the Barry M nail polishes. I love the colours but i have to say they take the piss to dry! And when they do they chip. So it's really annoying and a let down for such beautiful shades. They're a great price too but Maybelline's new range are the same price and they dry faster and you don't need as many coats. I feel that a lot of the Barry M nail polishes are quite sheer and you need about 4/5 coats. I picked up the new limited edition nail polish with the zebra top and the neon pink colour. Apparently its shade A. Which is a stupid name because they always have great names. But yeah. It's okay. Lovely colour once built up and dried but could be better. Only £3.99 for the limited edition colours and the gellys.

When i was in Cardiff this weekend i went to the Urban decay counter in debenhams and I let the girl do my eye makeup with the naked basics pallet. I don't own any urban decay products nor have i ever tried them but i thought £20 for a palette so highly praised was worth trying and i have only used it for 2 days but i love it! It's the perfect nude eye pallet. The colours are so so so pigmented and so easy to blend. I just love this and i can't wait to try more urban decay products.

The last three products i got where all skin care i suppose. I picked up the Vaseline spray and go moisturiser as i had seen this on Nicole Guerriero's you tube channel like 6 months ago and have been waiting for it to be realised in the UK ever since. I am really lazy when it comes to moisturising because i just feel sticky and i hate the time it takes to do. This is really easy and dries quickly. It smells great too so i love this and I'm so happy i found it. It was £4.99.
I've been using the St Moritz fake tanning mousse from home bargains for about 2 years now and i just felt like every time i applied it, it wouldn't last long and my legs were white and i just felt like i was becoming immune to the colour and it was bugging me. So I thought I'd try something new so i bought the L'oreal sublime bronzing mousse. It smelt really nice when I applied it... quite perfumey but in the morning i just smelt like any other fake tan and it gave me a headache. It took the same amount of time to dry and to be honest it didn't really last that long. About 2 days tops but I'm getting patchy already so if i had to choose a tan it would be the St Moritz mousse because its £2.99 and this one was £12.99 so for a £10 price difference and it does the same thing I'd rather get the cheaper one! 
I really wanted a new spray deodorant so i thought I'd try the Dove go fresh in grapefruit and lemongrass because i wanted something fresh for summer and I like Dove because i have sensitive skin.  It was £2.79 for the 250 ml on offer in Morrisons.

Birthday Haul (part 1)

So Saturday I turned 22, and I've been slowly growing my makeup collection so I will show you the things I got, my first impressions and I hope you enjoy :)

Firstly I received a Jimmy Choo perfume and Makeup that I liked but didn't love so I exchanged it for the things I really wanted to try.
1. Flash by Jimmy Choo. It is the nicest perfume I own, I love the packaging! My friend always says I'm like a magpie! I suppose I am attracted to shiny things! The bottle is pale blue and its just adorable. I love the scent.. It's so sweet and yummy! I can't explain how it smells on a computer but if you ask for a sample then you'll know what I mean! It was from Boots £46.00 and It's a 60ml bottle.

2. Lady Gaga fame. This perfume is just Lush! It's box is a little dull for my liking but I like glitter and sparkle so I think its hard to compete with Jimmy on the box! However I think the bottle is so much better than Jimmy Choo.. Its like a golden claw holding this black fluid.. It reminds me of a Faberge egg! And if the fluid wasn't black.. It would be pretty boring. The fluid come out almost grey and dissolves immediately so it doesn't dye your skin black! I love the smell of this. Very different to Jimmy Choo but amazing all the same! Love them both! This one was from Superdrug. £27.00 as it was on offer last week reduced from £54.00 and it's 100ml bottle.

3. Maybeline's dream satin liquid. My first impression when I opened my present was instantly "I'm going to hate it" but only because the dream matte mousse is horrible on my skin.. I have quite dry skin but the mousse would make it shinny and greasy and slide right off if I put powder on afterwards. But I was wrong. This foundation is lovely. I've warn it twice so far and I have to say I'm loving it. It's light weight, it blends well, it stayed put all day and it doesn't make me look greasy. So thumbs up for that one! And i think this was £8.99 from Superdrug.

4. Loreal's Lumi Magique Primer. I'm really struggling to find a primer my skin gets on with. I have dry skin but i also suffer with really red skin and I get spots if i use greasy products or wear too much makeup so I try to not stick tons of crap all over it. This primer is lovely for my skin, It's moisturising, dewy and has a nice shimmer if you wanted to highlight. However I've only used it once so I will write a further opinion when I've used it more. I thought it was a cheaper dupe for 'that gal' by benefit. So if you didn't want to spend £25 on a primer this one is £9.99 and i bought it from Superdrug.

5. BarryM Magic lipstick- green to pink. I bought this just because I thought it was truly amazing and I loved that it was different. I tried this on in Superdrug at least 3 times before I could justify buying it, but then I had left over credit from my exchange so I thought why not? It is a gorgeous colour that adapts to your natural PH balance and it suits your skin tone perfectly. I love it a lot and I wore it out on my birthday. I went for a meal and it stained my lips so it looked like i still had it on which was amazing! I'm really starting to love lip stains because i cant be bothered to re-apply my lip stick sometimes! This was around £4.99 i think and again from Superdrug.
